He is 1 out of 3 mayors of the city-state of Gazru, known from the Amarna Letters. The other mayors were Milkilu and Yapahu, but any order of succession is uncertain. Adda-danu seems to have been the author of EA 292, 293 and 294, in which he complained to the Egyptian King about the criminal acts of a certain Peya (son of Gulatu), an Egyptian subject who "has gone on plundering it (Gazru) so that it has become, thanks to him, like a pot held in pledge".
