My name is Bart Van Assche. I am Belgian, born in 1981, and blessed with a nearly 3 decades old, sincere passion for Egyptian history. Since March 2008 I have started using this site as a testimony to that profound interest. I do not have a degree in Egyptology, but I am rather obsessive about getting my facts straight. As such I try to deliver information on this site as correctly and accurately as possible.
I am well aware of the differences of opinion concerning certain topics discussed here. Wherever possible, these different opinions are voiced. My preferences regarding certain theories are bound to be apparent from time to time. The difference between theory and fact however is always clearly expressed and my reasons for prefering one theory over another are always explained. If these preferences would trouble or bother you nonetheless, please remember that differences of opinion should not only be welcome in historic debate, but that they should also be encouraged.
